Giving a gift from the Friends is also giving a gift to the Friends. Honor an event in someone's life with a poem, an outstanding scene, or a limited edition poster. Gift memberships and donations to the Friends are two more ways to honor someone and help the Friends.
The Gift Shop is open May through September, Saturdays 9:30 am to 4 pm; Sundays, 12:30 pm to 4 pm; some holidays; by chance; or by appointment (570-967-7275). You can also order most items by mail.

Salt Springs: How a Committed Group of Volunteers Keeps a Park Alive While Honoring the Past. 44 pp., 2014. $20.
On October 18, 1994, a group of citizens, angered at the rumor (later confirmed) that the historic buildings in Salt Springs Park might be burned down, met to brainstorm what we could do about it.
We formed a plan: Ask the state, not (yet again) to put some money into the park, but merely for the legal right to do it ourselves.
We took action: By December 23, 1994, we were incorporated as a nonprofit to better solicit, receive, and manage sums of money large and small to take over responsibility for resurrecting, improving, managing, and maintaining Salt Springs.
The book describes who we are, what we've done, what we're doing now, and why. It's filled with dozens of color photos that illustrate the transformation of Salt Springs from an unkempt yet beloved nook in the woods into a treasured destination for thousands of people each year.
